Jitterbits Chinese-English Dictionary, version 1.3
Jitterbits Chinese-English Dictionary is the first and only
dictionary for Pocket PC devices running OS version 2002 or later that
translates from PinYin Chinese to English. PinYin is the phonetic
representation of Chinese words using Latin alphabet. Thus, users of the
dictionary no longer need to know the ideographic Chinese writing (Hanzi) of the
word in order to find its translation. This makes the Jitterbits
Chinese-English Dictionary an indispensable tool for travelers and business
visitors to China.
Feature Summary:
1. Translation from Chinese to English:
- Chinese word look up from PinYin
- Chinese word look up from ideograph (Hanzi)
2. Translation from English to Chinese:
- shows the ideographic Simplified Chinese writing of the word (Hanzi)
- shows the phonetic pronunciation of the word
System requirements:
1. Pocket PC device running OS version 2002 or later.
2. Microsoft .NET mobile framework, which you can download from here, if
you're running PPC 2002. The .NET framework is embedded in all later
versions of the PPC OS and there's no need to install it separately.
3. Chinese Font, if you need to display the ideographic Simplified Chinese
writing of the word. You can use the dictionary without Chinese font too.
However, you will not be able to look up Chinese word from ideograph.
Disclaimer:
Jitterbits
Chinese-English Dictionary uses CEDICT, a publicly available dictionary
compilation, which can be downloaded
here. CEDICT is one of the most complete and up to date
Chinese-English translation references. Jitterbits does not sell CEDICT or
makes any claims with regards to it. We do provide installation files for
the Jitterbits dictionary that include compiled versions of CEDICT for user
convenience, but it's perfectly OK to download CEDICT windows-1251 directly from the Web
and import it for use with the Jitterbits Dictionary.
